Advent 2–Genesis 3:1-7, Competition or Contentment?

Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree…

We went hiking in Jasper this weekend, which admittedly is more our thing than the girls'. Yesterday we needed a 4X4 on some random county road we ended up exploring. The girls kept asking, "Where is daddy taking us???" Emma Kate figured it out--"To our death." Kind of. We got out to look the rock formations that we'd driven all the way out there to see and were promptly swarmed by all manner of bugs. This is a death of sorts for poor EK.

New post on theclingysoul.com (link in profile). Advent Day 9: Isaiah 11:1-10, The Reign of Peace. "The violent and the victim come together for worship, and they are completely at peace with one another. Jesus' reign, having been initiated by grace and forgiveness at the cross, will be one of unimaginable peace."
A new Advent post is up on theclingysoul.com (link in profile). Merry Christmas! "Barrenness had been Sarah’s identity for all her married life. When God repeated his promise to Abraham over the years, she surely felt persecuted. His plan for Abraham—and the rather lengthy timeline--highlighted her shame and failure. Then she made a mess of things by bringing Hagar into the picture. But the LORD was gracious to her. We don’t just see God’s grace in the birth of this child—He included Sarah in the promise. He gave her a role in accomplishing His purpose, to redeem the world through His Son Jesus."
My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. Psalm 63:8
